Remember the last time you used crayons and paint?

Let's face it. We're all under pressure and often at a bit of a loss when it's time to step up, be true to ourselves and put our own needs first, putting it out that we really deserve, are entitled to do something, to invest in us.
When we packed up our crayons and paints upon leaving primary school, that’s about the time we learnt to put everyone and everything else first, to conform, to fit in and we packed away a part of ourselves. The part that insists, because it knows its important, that we deserve and are entitled to nurture ourselves.
There is a place for being considerate and kind and considering the needs of others, there is also a place to take care of you, you were born for an important reason. You have a purpose you need to fulfill, and now it's your responsibility to assure that this purpose is not only nurturing the very being of your soul, but fulfilling your destiny as well. How is this accomplished? First remember that unassuming has no place in life. To quote Michael J. Fox, author of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Future…”, “… what’s happening to you right now, precisely at this instant, belongs only to you. Own it." Get on with it!!!
And to help you do that my friends Jan-Marie and Jenny at New Thought Entrepreneurs have put together a auction of 25 different healings, consultations and some exquisite jewelry for you to treat yourself too. This is your opportunity to help the Queensland Flood Appeal and Bag yourself a Bargain. My offerings include an In Home Consultation and for those outside Brisbane a Mini~Miracle session.
Enjoy the Journey!!! Debra :-)

Heartbreaking Flood Damage

How's everything?
Hope that everyone you love is safe and your homes are OK.
For those of you not in Queensland the sheer devastation of the floods is hard to comprehend. Boats, Pontoons, Tyres, and other debris being carried along in the fast moving river.Wednesday, January 5, 2011
Feng Shui teaches us that everything is Alive, Connected and Changing...
These are the three Foundation Principles of ‘Chi’ (energy). Just as Acupuncture balances our bodies energy for optimal health, Feng Shui balances the energy of our built environment.
We know from science that what we see as Form and Shape existing in the physical dimension is merely dense particles vibrating. The chair you are sitting in is merely lots of molecules vibrating closely together which gives the appearance of solid matter.
Ancient cultures knew that everything, all animate and inanimate objects, are ALIVE with memories, feelings and associations. All objects are speaking to us all of the time, some give messages that lift our spirits and others reduce our excitement and enthusiasm (negative vibes), sometimes these vibes (good or bad) are barely perceptible.
Where the eye goes Chi flows. When cupboards are full of stuff that we rarely use and struggle to locate when required, then the energy flow is blocked. Where ever it is that we are living (even if it’s only temporary) is the built environment with the greatest effect on our life experience. Here are a few suggestions to get you started on increasing the beneficial flow of Chi in your home.
* Do you feel good about where you sleep? Invest in sheets that you love!
* Is there stuff under the bed? Ideally Chi flows freely under the bed and there is access from both sides. (i.e. The bed is not up against the wall.)
* What do you see in the morning when you wake up? Ensure you feel uplifted!
* What greets you when you arrive home? Improve on that experience.
One of my favourite questions during a consultation is: “Tell me about this?” Many clients initially respond with something like: “Well I got that when I split up with my ex.” They then go on to explain why it is totally unconnected to their ex and has no memories, feelings and associations of that previous less than excellent relationship. “It’s just wonderful and worth lots of money, and I just couldn’t possibly part with it.” It’s interesting how often that we reach the end of our time together they just can’t wait to get it out of the house! The connections of our belongings is a big deal!
Why do we hold onto items that have painful memories of the past? When we hold onto items that remind us of less than excellent situations in our lives, we are holding onto the hurt and the pain of that time. The objects we are holding onto connect us to people and relationships that no longer serve us. We haven’t let go, thus it is difficult for anything or anyone to come into the space. Do we want to continue to recreate that less than excellent scenario or are we willing to let go, allowing room for a different experience, a different outcome?
Sort through your belongings and consider these questions:
* Do I love this item or am I holding onto it out of GUILT and OBLIGATION?
* Is it useful to me now? If not, but it is useful to someone now, give it to them!
* Does it reflect who I am now in my life? Who I am choosing to become? or is it a reflection of where I have come from?… do I want that energy in my life?
* Does it act as an environmental affirmation for me? What positive and/or negative thoughts, memories, or emotions do I have?
* Does it need to be fixed or repaired, (28 days) and am I willing to do so now?
* If I moved tomorrow, would I choose to take it with me? If it is time to let it it go, am I going to dump, sell, lend or give it away and how, when and who to?

Frustrated with the direction your life has been traveling?
Seven Essential Questions;
You must ask about everything and everyone in your life!
Inevitably the reason you feel like this is because there are things and/or people in your life creating resentment, that consciously or unconsciously are adversely impacting you, inhibiting your ability to move forward and to Be, Do and Have anything and everything You have ever desired or wanted in Your Life. If You truly desire to move forward, if You really want things to change, You owe it to yourself to take the time to work through this checklist, listen to the guidance of your inner knowing and take action today!
1. Do I love it?
Or am I holding onto this item/person out of GUILT and OBLIGATION?
2. Is it useful to me now?
If not, and it is useful to someone now, then give it to them!
3. Does it reflect who I am now in my life?
And who I am choosing to become or is it a reflection of where I have come from?……
And do I wish to recall that energy in my life?
4. Does it act as an environmental affirmation for me?
Is it uplifting? Do my energy levels drop when I see the object?
5. What positive and/or negative thoughts, memories, or emotions do I associate with it?
6. Does it need to be fixed or repaired, (28 days)
and am I willing to do so now?
7. If I moved tomorrow, would I choose to take it with me? If it is time to let it go, am I going to dump, sell, lend or give it away and if so how, when and who to?

Feng Shui Basics, what successful people just do.
Debra Jarvis is a specialist in the science of place and space. Her philosophy is that when we are building and renovating it’s important that we consider the people who will inhabit that space and ensure that they enjoy and benefit from the time spent there. Remember too, most people’s first impression of how a space feels (their emotional reaction) is a major factor when making decisions about buying or renting,
Building or renovating, you are creating spaces that people will inhabit, ideally they will enjoy the time they spend in those places. Ensure your home is inviting to come into and that there are spaces that lend themselves to different activities; reading, sleeping, entertaining, meals and relaxing.
Consider the placement of furniture, ideally seating is placed so that a solid wall is behind those occupying the seats. Remember to include walls so that furniture can easily be placed in a room, it’s staggering how many people forget that walls are an important part of the structure.
In Feng Shui we say, ‘the bigger the bedroom the higher the divorce rate’. Bedrooms are places of intimacy. Ideally only one regular sized door should lead to the bedroom and beds should be placed on a solid wall where the occupant(s) have a view of every door and window in the room. The feet should not point at the door while occupying the bed.
Two way bathrooms are said to create confusion in the lives of those who use them. A single standard door is ideal for both bathrooms and toilets, please also remember baths and spas should not be included in the bedroom. Water is considered detrimental to relationships; so avoid running water in bedrooms unless you want a steady stream of different partners or lots of drama and bickering.
Where possible avoid a design that has the front and back doors directly aligned. Chi (beneficial energy) flows in the front door and straight out the back. Interestingly in our Queenslanders, builders intuitively corrected for this with horizontal floorboards, filigrees above doorways between the front and back, and enclosed porches at the top of the back steps.
Consider the activities that you do individually and as a family or sub-groups within the family, and as much as possible ensure every member has a space they can call their own, and then ensure there are spaces that encourage interaction between family members. Lots of that interaction that used to happen in daily life and connected us as a family has been lost, be sure to include intimate family places such as a place where everyone gathers to eat on a regular basis.
